About University at Albany Rowing Club

UAlbany Rowing Club has a history of three decades excellence.  It is one of largest and most actives clubs and sport teams on campus. We welcome all interested rowers and coxswains. NO previous experience required! In fact, the majority of collegiate rowers did not row in high school.

We have three seasons, fall, winter, and spring. The fall and spring are water seasons where we compete in at least four regattas in Northeast, including the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, MA and in the spring we attend Dad Vail Regatta, the national championship in Philadelphia, PA. Practice information can be found in the "Practice" section of our website.

During the winter season we practice indoors on rowing machines and attend internationally known competitions such as C.R.A.S.H.-B Sprints, Boston, MA. One of our coxswains was a world champion for two consecutive years.

Rowing requires teamwork and cooperation to succeed. The meshing of individual drive and the spirit of the men and women in the shells win championships. Crew will challenge you to push yourself to limits that you never thought you were capable of reaching. The sport is demanding, but ultimately rewarding. Want to know more?
